WHITE LIPSTICK why you need it

White lipstick is not new to the makeup world.  But, lately it has gotten more attention because Jeffree Star added a WHITE lipstick to his VELOUR LIQUID LIPSTICK line called ‘drug lord’ which will set you back $18.  You gotta love the names of the products in the JS makeup line!  Anyway…  Recently Maybelline also has added a WHITE lipstick to their LOADED BOLDS LIPSTICK launch called ‘Wickedly White’ running $5.49 at your local Target.  Something to keep in mind is that NYX cosmetics has had a WHITE lipstick available for as long as I remember in their NYX Macaron Lippies line Coconut $5.99.  The NYX one is a cream lipstick.

WHITE LIPSTICKS can be mixed with other lip colors to change the hue and make them lighter.  I have lost track of how many times I have wished my lipstick was a little lighter.

It’s important to keep in mind the finishes you are mixing together.  You would not want to mix a liquid white lipstick with a cream lipstick.  It may in fact work on your lips.  But, it will change the products chemistry.  So, in retrospect a matte lipstick would not be truly matte anymore if you mixed it with a cream formula.  Just a thought to chew on as you go through your day today.

So, the way it works is that you slap some WHITE LIPSTICK on your hand, mixing platter or whatever.  Then you add the lipstick color you wish to lighten.  Next you simply mix the colors together with your finger or brush.  You can add more white or other lipstick color to your liking.  I think this is fabulous and don’t know how I’ve gone so long without it.  This is a great way to expand your lipstick collection under $6!
